Don’t Miss Your Life

I was driving home this morning when a song came on the radio that really spoke to me. I’m a very hard worker. Always have been As a result, I missed out on a lot that, in retrospect, was more important than any “work” that I ever had to do. I don’t regret the 80 hour weeks in the corporate world. In fact I’m thankful for them. They taught me a lot. Take a quick listen to this song and see if it doesn’t hit home with you too.

I now work from home. I started my own home based gold and silver business. My work days consist of taking my twin girls out in the yard and watching them play with the water hose, tending to my garden, getting after school snacks ready for my older kids when they get home from school, and spending more time with my beautiful wife. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss your life.

Everyone wants to be financially free. Most people would love to have more time for themselves and their family. Who wouldn’t love to be able to make money from home and be their own boss? I believe that given the opportunity, everyone would love to have those opportunities. And YOU CAN! You can make it in MLM with the right company and guidance. Keep reading.

Let’s get to the nitty gritty first; what exactly is MLM. MLM simply put is an affordable way for anyone to start their own home business and generate income. The model is set up so that as you grow your team you create a residual income that pays you over and over for work that you have only done once. Pretty cool, right? It does take time and effort to generate significant results but with persistence and perseverance it will pay off.

The proper guidance in MLM is crucial. If you join a company and have no prior MLM experience, success can be difficult. You need to find informative blogs (like this on from yours truly =-) that can give you pointers on business building. You have to have access to your upline and the company leaders to get questions about the business, company and industry answered. Some people will succeed even with a lack of guidance but most will not. When looking for a company or when looking to change companies, find one with solid leadership and proven results. You’ll be glad you did.

Lastly, you have to get started. Don’t be afraid of failure. Failure IS success if you learn something from it. Don’t worry about “fast money”, focus on long term results. This business is about long term residual income not a quick buck. You can do it!

Tough Days in MLM

One of the greatest things about MLM is the freedom that you have by working from home which is why so many people look to MLM. But as we all know, sometimes life gets in the way and working from home can be tough. Keep reading to see how you can overcome the tough days in MLM.

I have to tell you that the past 2 weeks have been real tough around the Judd house. My wife is 22 weeks pregnant and is having some issues that have required more trips to the doctor than anyone should have to take. Thank the Lord that the baby is okay, but my wife is in so much pain that she can hardly walk. Being the good husband (yes, I did just pat myself on the back), I have jumped in with both feet to contribute around the house. A lot of the time that I would normally be building my home business has been occupied with diapers, cooking, cleaning and taking the kids to football and scouts. Things that under normal circumstances my wife would do. To top it all off, I had to have my dog, Patch, put to sleep today. He has been my constant companion for the past 10 years and will be greatly missed by my family. So how do you continue to build your home business when “life happens”?

The trick to staying focused on your home business when “life happens” is much easier said than done but by no means impossible. Follow these steps to continue building your business even through the tough days in MLM.

1. Prioritize. Take care of the important things first. Right now my primary focus is my wife. I know that when she heals, there will be much more time for me to do the daily tasks I need to do to generate income from home.

2. Don’t lose focus. Even when things get tough, don’t forget why you started your own home business. These are the times that make it easy to make excuses as to why the time is not right for you to be a part of your MLM. But trials and tribulations are always temporary. If you quit your MLM, you will have nothing when your issues are resolved and if you want to get back into MLM, you’ll have to start all over.

3. Put one foot in front of the other. Never let anything push you back. Always keep moving forward. Address your family issues, your health issues, your financial issues, etc. to the best of your ability and keep your eye on the prize.

Although life can really throw you curve balls from time to time, don’t let that get in your way or interfere with your success. There are many people in this industry who have been through similar circumstances that can help walk you through and provide guidance along the way.

What is it that you really want? Do you want more time with your family? Would you like to just make a little more money or would you like to totally replace your current income? Would you like to be able to fire your boss and just work for yourself? Whatever it is that you want, you can have it with MLM. Keep reading to see what I mean.

MLM is a great way to generate a long term residual income from home. MLM is the way to create a legitimate home based business that can supplement your current income or to potentially completely replace your current income. When you are able to generate a fulltime income from home, you’ll quickly realize that you’re now able to live the life that you’ve always wanted. You’ll be able to travel more, spend more time with your children. You won’t have to miss another T-ball game or dance recital. You won’t have to worry about the stress of “the daily grind”. Whatever it is that you are looking for, you’ll find it through the financial freedom you can have through MLM.

Most important to achieving financial freedom is having the right motivation. If your motivation is “that would be nice” or if you think you can make big money with little work or effort, you’ll never succeed in MLM. You really have to have a strong motivating factor to put the work and effort in MLM. Without the right motivation you won’t succeed.

For me, my children are my motivation. The day my 13 year old came to me and said, “Dad, I’m tired of us being broke all the time”, was the day I decided to do something about it. My bosses weren’t going to pay for church camp, brand name clothes, the groceries, trumpet lessons and little league. And I didn’t have the money to. I knew I had to make a change. Through MLM, I’m achieving my goals and building the life that I always wanted. Are you being the change that you want to see?

This is for those who want to start a home based business, newbies, or those who have not experienced the success in their company that they want. So this covers just about everyone. Continue reading to boost your MLM Success.

To be successful in MLM, as with any business, you have to have a plan. It’s easy to go online and just start slinging your website all over the internet. And some online marketing is absolutely essential to the business. But you can’t just randomly toss your website out there and hope that some random person will join your team. You need to start with a simple plan for success that will produce real results.

For those of you who still have to hold down a full time j-o-b while building your home business, start with a very simple plan. Call 5 people everyday and ask them to watch your business presentation. Make a follow up appointment with those who have committed to watching your presentation.

If you have a little more time, commit to writing a blog once a week in addition to making your phone calls and place a few ads like this online. You’ll be surprised at how many MLM leads you generate.

I know that the more success you have the more committed you’ll be to your business. Especially when you get to the point to where you can fire your boss and work from home full time. That is when your daily routine becomes even more important. Regardless of what your routine is, make sure that the tasks are productive. Be sure to track the results from all of your marketing strategies to see which are productive and which are not. Then get rid of the non-productive techniques and replace them with more productive ones. Before long you’ll see your income sky rocket and you’ll be generating the type of money you’ve always wanted from home.

Spring Break and Positive Thinking

So my family is coming off spring break this week while yours family may be getting ready to start. I want to share with you how our spring break went.

We decided we would start our spring break by heading down to our lake house, do a little fishing and take the boat out on the lake. The first day we were there it was way too windy to enjoy the boat ride and we were only able to fish from the dock. Which is okay with me because I’ll fish anywhere. But no one caught a fish except for my oldest son. This was pretty cool because not only was it his first catch ever, it was a large mouth bass.

The second day we went fishing from the dock in the morning and no fish were caught. The afternoon was nice so we took the whole family out on the boat. Our twins, who are 20 months old, absolutely hated being on the boat. They were scared the whole time and screamed loud enough to break windows on the opposite side of the lake.

Day three, the fish were still just not biting. I had tried power bait, stink bait, livers and lures. We fished the top, with a bobber and the bottom. They just weren’t biting. I did manage to pull in a nice sized catfish at the very end of the day but no one else caught a thing. That night one of my twins comes down with a nasty stomach bug. So did my youngest son and oldest daughter. They were all terribly sick with everything that goes along with the stomach bug.

My wife packed everyone up the kids and took everyone home. I had to stay behind to clean up and had to go to work the next day which was closer to the lake house than my house anyway. I didn’t finish the cleaning like I was supposed to because I got side tracked by fishing =-)

The day after my shift my family and I were supposed to go to Crystal River to swim with the manatees. Unfortunately our reservations weren’t confirmed and we had to reschedule our trip for April. So I went back to the lake to clean and promptly locked myself out of my truck. I had to call the tow company to come pop my door and they told me it would be at least an hour. An hour I spent fishing.

Now here’s how I view the week: I was able to take my kids out on the lake where my son caught his first fish. On day two I had the opportunity to spend the whole day with my family and take them out on a boat ride. The third day I was again able to spend time with my family and even if the fish didn’t bite, it was quality time together. Day four, my wife had to take care of the kids but I was able to spend some quiet time on the dock fishing. Even though we didn’t get to swim with the manatees this week, we have something to look forward to in April. Though I locked my key in the truck, it sparked an impromptu fishing hour at the lake. There are a lot worse places I could have been locked out.

Although nothing went as planned for me this past week, I still enjoyed it. There was plenty to be thankful for and I got to spend quality time with my family. Don’t let little things ruin your day or week. Look for the positive things in life. You’ll enjoy it a lot more. If you’re going on spring break next week I wish you happiness and safe travels.

Is your prospect a Fraidy Cat?

People are scared

The number 1 reason that people don’t sign up to join your business is because they are scared. People are absolutely 100% afraid that they cannot succeed. They won’t admit the fear; they will mask it with lame excuses as to why they are not interested. But the truth of the matter is that if they really believed in themselves, that they could sign up and make money, they would join.

There are a couple of truths that exist in network marketing that everyone should be aware of. 1) If you don’t join you’ll never succeed. 2) The only way to fail is to quit.

When you are talking to a prospect about your business, the most important thing is not how cool your product is, or how much money you can make. The most important thing is for you to learn about why your prospect is interested in a home business. If they want more time with their kids, they can have that working from home. If they want more money, freedom, time with a spouse, time to travel, or less stress in their life; they can have that with network marketing. Your job now is to show them how to achieve that. But just because you present a solution doesn’t mean they’ll join your company. They’re still skeptical and they are still afraid of failing.

People who are afraid of failing won’t tell you they are afraid of failing. They’ll make excuses instead; I don’t have the time, I don’t have the money, is this one of those pyramid things etc. etc. The list goes on and on. I even had a guy tell me one time that he “already had enough gold and silver” (the product my primary company promotes).

If the number 1 reason that people won’t join your business is fear, then you don’t really need to worry about overcoming objections. You need to focus on building up your prospects. I don’t mean making crazy promises and false claims. I mean, helping show them that they can succeed. If you’re talking to a prospect you can ask them a question like this; do you know anyone who works in ___X__ industry? When they say yes, or that they know several people in that field, that is when you explain why folks in that industry are successful with your company. Better yet, you can give them testimonies about other in your company that come from a particular industry and have had great success. If you are talking to a prospect and can give testimony about someone with a similar background that has had success, he will be able to relate. You don’t want to convince someone they can succeed. You want them to convince themselves they can succeed.

 Everyone in network marketing is constantly looking for the best way to generate and convert leads. One method that you can use is actually buying the leads from a company whose job is to find the leads and send them to you. There are several different type of leads at a variety of prices. But should you actually try purchasing leads to boost your business?

The great part about network marketing is that your business is YOURS. Whether you buy leads is entirely up to you. You can market online or offline, hold meeting in your house or host a webinar. The ways of prospecting and generating leads are limitless and, at the end of the day, the method that you use is entirely up to you.

Now here is the big question; what are you going to do once you have your leads? Obviously you’re going to pick up the phone and call. A lead isn’t just one phone call and a hope for the best. Network marketing is about relationships and trust. With a solid marketing system you’ll be able to build strong, lasting relationships.

I think it’s safe to say that we all joined our network marketing companies for 2 reasons; we like the product and want to make money. But making money in network marketing certainly isn’t as easy as we hoped and is never as easy as advertised. Often, we find that the people we thought would be the most interested in out company, our friends and family, turn out to be our biggest detractors. That is why so many people turn towards the internet to market their product and company. But again, this turns out to be more difficult than anticipated. So how does someone build a successful business on the internet?

The best answer to this question is to build relationships with people. You will never get anyone to join your company or purchase your product if your primary marketing method is simply to email your link, possibly with a catchy sales pitch to complete strangers. They don’t know you and have no reason to trust you. I suppose that there is that 1 in a million chance that someone may bite, but if you’re banking on those odds you might as well play the lottery to amass your fortune. To successfully prospect online you have to build relationships.

I belong to several online groups where everyone’s primary method of marketing seems to be posting a catchy sales pitch with a link to their website attached. Many times these aren’t even personally posted but mass posted using some type of auto-post software. When there are multiple people from the same company in the group, usually the message that these people post is identical. There is nothing that makes them standout. If you’re going to be effective, your posts need to be personal and unique.

As a member of these groups, I never post my company’s link. I did when I first started in network marketing but quickly found that it was terribly ineffective and that I was wasting my time and energy being unproductive. Since then I have started posting things like my blog and an introduction to my online marketing system; things that can actually provide value to other members in the groups who are obviously spinning their wheels with unproductive tasks and hoping for the best. Providing content with value is much more productive than spamming group pages.

I have also posted things like “hello” in these groups. Not a single person responded. Funny how they want me to join their team so bad but won’t even extend the common courtesy of replying with a hello or how are you. I’ve even offered to be prospected, just to see if anyone would reply. They didn’t. And I can’t tell you how many times I’ve filled out a lead capture page just to see if someone would pick up the phone and call me. They didn’t. Do these people really wonder why they aren’t making any money with their company? It’s not about the business, the upline, the product or the compensation plan. It’s about the relationship.

If you want to start establishing yourself as a leader in your company, start acting like one. Instead of continuously, spamming groups, pages, comments, emails etc., start building relationships. Talk to people. Find out why they joined their company, what they like about it, how they are doing with it. See if there is anything you can do to help them even if they aren’t a part of your company. Do you have an affiliate program that may help them? Do you have a blog that might interest them? Offer them value and friendship. The relationships you build will build your business. The spam will damage your credibility.
